Notice for All Radio Streaming Service Users

 

We are pleased to announce that the migration of radio.canstream.co.uk to new infrastructure was successfully completed on Friday 22nd August 2025 in the evening.

 

What Has Changed:

  • The radio streaming server has been upgraded to new, high-performance infrastructure
  • Enhanced reliability and improved streaming quality
  • Seamless transition completed with minimal service interruption

 

Important Information for Broadcasters:

 

✓ No Impact If You:

  • Use radio.canstream.co.uk as your server address in encoder settings
  • Have properly configured DNS settings on your equipment
  • Are using the domain name for relay connections

 

⚠️ Action Required If You:

  • Are still using the legacy IP address to connect to our servers
  • Are using hardware encoders without DNS configuration
  • Have relay services configured with direct IP addresses

 

Configuration Requirements:

For those using hardware encoders or direct IP connections, please ensure your settings are updated:

 

Server Address:

  • Correct: radio.canstream.co.uk
  • Deprecated: Direct IP address connections

 

For Hardware Encoder Users: DNS configuration is essential. Recommended settings:

  • Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1
  • Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.1

 

Without proper DNS configuration, hardware encoders cannot resolve domain names and will fail to connect.

 

Relay Services: Many stations use radio.canstream for relay services. If your relay configuration uses IP addresses, please update to use the domain name to ensure continued service.

 

Technical Support: If you are experiencing connection issues following the migration:

  1. Verify you are using the domain name, not an IP address
  2. Check your DNS settings are properly configured
  3. Restart your encoder after making any changes
  4. Check any relay configurations for IP address usage
